Peter is in Sydney at present and will be until mid October before heading to Queensland for the Queensland Open.

"I am playing the Australian events this summer although will not be able to play the PGA Championship on the Gold Coast as I am planning to be at the Champions Tour Qualifying School that week.

"I have access to the Final Stage courtesy of my PGA Tour career so am looking forward to the events leading up to that in order that I can have my game at its best.

I was disappointed with my effort in Fiji as after doing well at the Senior Open Championship and then making the cut in the PGA Tour event following I felt the game was in good shape but that's golf I guess."

Peter will play the Australian Open at the Australian Golf Club just ahead of leaving for the US

Peter Fiji bound

Peter is back in Sydney for a few days following his recent efforts at the Senior British Open at Royal Porthcawl in Wales and the PGA Tour's Barracuda Championship in Nevada where he played well in both events.

Peter finished third behind Bernhard Langer and Corey Pavin at the Champions Tour event in Wales and then made the cut but finished well back in Nevada after finding out very late that he had a start in that event.

Peter is keen to keep the good form he showed in both events going and he will head off on Monday to the Fiji International, a jointly sanctioned event between the Asian, European and Australasian Tours in Natadola Bay in Fiji next week.

"I am playing well at present and am keen to keep it going while I can," said Peter from his home in Sydney today. "The last hole of the Senior Open Championship was a little gut-wrenching as it could have had implications as far as potential status on the Champions Tour but I was pleased overall with my debut in senior golf."

Peter three putted the last for par while his playing partner Coey Pavin holed from 25 feet for birdie to move ahead of him and into second place behind Langer.

Playing options ahead of a tilt at the Champions Tour qualifying later this year are still being considered.

Peter starts well but finishes well back in Reno

After what had been an encouraging start to the PGA Tour's Barracuda Championship in Reno in Nevada, Peter has finished well back in a share of 54th position.

Peter was a late inclusion in the field and in fact was not advised until late Tuesday that he was to take one of the reserve places in the field.

"When they (the PGA Tour) called initially I thought they were referring to a Champions Tour event," said Peter earlier in the week.

"But was delighted to get another PGA Tour start after so long and was overall pretty happy with the way I played. While last week was encouraging (3rd on debut in senior golf)  the way I finished on the 72nd hole at the Senior Open in Wales was a bit gutwrenching but it was nice to have at least started well here and make the weekend.

"The final two rounds were a bit disappointing but that's the way it goes and on a golf course where scoring was overall very low I was not able to make the sort of progress I had holed for over the weekend."

Peter will now head back to Australia, his immediate schedule not yet determined.
