Another near thing for Peter

On a golf course where low scoring became very much the norm, Peter was left a little flat footed at the Midwest Classic in Kansas and has missed the cut albeit narrowly.

Peter's second round of 68 left him one shot short of the cut mark at the Jack Nicklaus designed layout at Lions Gate in Overland Park. It was not that his game was bad and the frustration builds as he continues to put together some reasonable rounds of golf but with little to show for it.

Peter will now head for Knoxville in Tennessee where he will play the News Sentinel Open presented by Pilot at the Fox Den Golf Club there.

No PGA Tour start but Peter happy with happy with game

Peter had been hoping to get a start at the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship this week but he was unable to advance his fourth place on the alternate list and so will this week take his place in the field for the Nationwide Tour's Midwest Classic in Kansas City.

The tournament is being played for the second occasion at the Nicklaus Golf Club in Overland Park just south of Kansas City.

Peter was disappointed not to get a start at the PGA Tour event in Greensboro but, regardless, is still looking forward to this week.

"Unfortunately didn't get that start in Greensboro and am therefore still in Kansas and looking forward to a good week here (hopefully). The course is pretty good.

"It apparently has the chance of being pretty windy and blowing from different directions each day. It should be interesting and almost feel like you are playing a different course each day. I don't think the scores will be as low as the last few weeks but you never know."

"My game is definitely on the improve despite not playing great last Sunday," added Peter referring to a struggle to move forward on Sunday at the tournament in Missouri.

Progress continues in Missouri

Peter has finished in a share of 25th position at the Price Cutter Charity Championship in Springfield in Missouri and although he struggled to build momentum on day four it was one of his better finishes on the Nationwide Tour this season and points further to the progress he is making.

Peter's overall stats for the week were solid and better driving distance stats give an indication of continued improvement in his ball striking.

It was a low scoring week with 26 under par taking the title and today Peter was unable to keep pace on a golf course yielding so many birdies.

Next week Peter heads to the Midwest Classic at the Lions Gate course in Overland Park in Kansas, another low scoring layout but with the confidence building his chances of even further improvement look good.
