After being unable to gain a start in events earlier in the season Peter gets the opportunity to play the El Bosque Mexico Championship in El Bosque Country Club in Leon in Guanajuato.

Having played just three events in 2016, the last of which was the Perth International in February, Peter is in need of tournament golf and plays what is hopefully the first of several events in coming weeks.

Peter gets a start based on the 48 and 49 year old former PGA Tour members category.

An impressive final round of 69 at the ISPS Handa Perth International has put the seal on good week for Peter at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club in Perth.

Peter finished 43rd in the even jointly sanctioned by the European, Asian and Australasian Tours but a homeward nine of 3 under 33 gave him plenty of confidence for the tasks ahead as he contemplates a return to the Web.Com Tour.

After narrowly missing the cut at last week's Panama Claro Championship in Panama City, Peter finds himself in Bogota in Colombia this week for the Club Colombia Championship at the Bogota Golf Club.

Peter has a start in the event through the category set aside for players who are either 48 or 49, that group given the opportunity to hone their games for a potential crack at the Champions Tour when they turn 50.

Peter has played this event on four previous occasions without a lot of success although he did finish 13th in 2011 after an opening round of 66.

Peter made a fast start to last week's event in Panama before slipping over the final nine holes of round one and his second  round of 72 left him just one short of making the weekend.

Peter has narrowly missed the cut at the opening event of the 2016 Web.Com Tour season finishing just one shot short of playing the weekend at the Panama Claro Championship.

Peter made a great start to the week when he made the turn in round one at 3 under before he sruggled through his back nine to finish with an opening round of 1 over 71.

He  began on the 10th hole in round two and once again he struggled through the layout's back nine before so nearly getting back to the cutline with a homeward nine of 1 under and a round of 72.

It was not enough to make the weekend but there were encouraging signs and he will now play next week's Club Colombia Championship in Bogota

Peter back playing Web.Com Tour

Peter will play his first Web.Com Tour event in nearly 15 months when he tees it up this week at the Panama Claro Championship in Panama City as he looks to take advantage of a category available to players either 48 or 49 years of age prior to reaching their 50th birthday in order that they may prepare for the possibility of a career on the Champions Tour.

Three places per event are available in that category and Peter is assured of starts in Panama and in Colombia the following week.

Peter has had mixed results in Panama but did finish 7th there in 2012 and following several solid events on the PGA Tour of Australasia he is happy to be back playing the Web.Com Tour.
