Peter gets back on the horse in Toowoomba

Tuesday, 17 February 2015

With just a few holes to play of round two at last week's Victorian PGA Championship at Huntingdale Golf Club Peter was well inside the cutline but a horror run over his closing few holes saw him bundled out of the event.

It was frustrating for Peter as the opportunity to get more tournament golf under his belt was important as he eases his way back into tournament golf this year.

The next event on his schedule will be this week's Queensland PGA Championship at the City Golf Club in Toowoomba followed by a week off then off to NZ for the NZ PGA and NZ Open Championships.

Peter has narrowly missed the cut at the Oates Victorian Open at 13th Beach in Barwon Heads.

A second round of 71 left him one short of the required mark to make the weekend and he now focuses his attention on the upcoming Victorian PGA Championship at Huntingdale Golf Club beginning on Tuesday.

Huntingdale Golf Club holds special memories for Peter as it was there where he won his two Australian Masters titles and hopefully those memories might play a role in kick starting his 2015 season.

Peter returns to tournament golf this week when he plays the first of three consecutive events on the PGA Tour of Australasia schedule, the Oates Victorian Open, the Victorian PGA Championship and the Coca Cola Queensland PGA Championship.

Peter is also expected to enter at least one of the two events in New Zealand namely the New Zealand PGA Championship in Auckland and the BMW New Zealand Open Championship in Queenstown although no final decision has yet been made on those.

"I have not played a lot of golf since the PGA Championship on the Gold Coast but have managed to practice quite a bit so am looking forward to getting back into it and and hopefully the game will hold up. I was really quite pleased with the way things went up on the Gold Coast apart from a double bogey at the final hole which cost me a much higher finish."

Peter recorded one of his worst rounds in tournament golf during the second round of the Australian Open at the Australian Golf Club in Sydney a nine over par 80 ensuring he would have the weekend off.

Peter, though, was quickly back on the horse, heading out to the Lakes to practice ahead of next week's NSW PGA Championship at Riverside Oaks and the Australian PGA Chamionship at Royal Pines a week later.
