Peter gains start in Minnesota

Peter has managed a late start at the Champions Tour event in Minnesota this week, another chance to gain some traction on that tour.

Following a 24th place last week at the Senior Open Championship at St Andrews, Peter was advised a start was available to him via the alternate category and he was keen to take advantage as he chases staus on the Champions Tour.

The 3M Championship at the TPC Twins Cities in Blaine is a US$1.75 million event and with several of the leading players on the Champions tour taking a break after the demands of big events in recent weeks an opportunity opened up for Peter.

"We played the pro am yesterday and I am ready to go on Friday," said Peter referring to the three day nature of this event. "I am playing ok but probably not driving it as well as I could be.

"Fingers crossed Ivan sort it out today on the range today."

"Getting the start is a lucky break so I would love to take advantage of this opportunity.

"Bulldogs beating the Broncos is hopefully a good omen," added Peter referring to his favourite NRL team.

Peter will play with Scott Dunlap and Russ Cocharne in the opening two rounds.
